The start of August marks the beginning of the harvest season.
If you don't have a garden, you might think this has nothing to do with you. I don't think that's true.
Harvest isn't just about gathering tomatoes or zucchini. It's also about taking time to recognize what you've grown, what you've accomplished, and what deserves a moment of gratitude before you rush off to the next goal.
I'll be the first to admit that this isn't one of my strengths.
I'm pretty good at making plans, setting goals, and checking them off the list. What I'm not so good at is pausing long enough to celebrate what those accomplishments represent. I tend to raise the bar a little higher and keep working to hit it.
✈️ I am grateful for having time to be in MN/WI to visit with friends and family. (If you own a farm, you know this is easier thought of then done.)
🤩I am grateful for the quiet excitement of projects coming together behind the scenes. (Stay Tuned for the Release 😉)
🐐 I am grateful that our 2027 breeding lineup is complete and that three of our December breedings are already underway. (Now we wait another 30 days until ultrasounds—fingers crossed!)
None of these moments happened overnight. They came from months—and in some cases years—of showing up, making small decisions, and trusting the process.
As we step into harvest season, I'd encourage you to do the same.
Before you start chasing the next goal, take a moment to look back.
What are you harvesting this season?
What have you accomplished that deserves a little gratitude before you move on to what's next?
I'd love to hear about it.
