Purchase Agreement

Purchase Agreement - Terms Of Sale

We test our goats annually for CL, CAE, and Johne’s and maintain a clean herd. These diseases can be carried without obvious symptoms and have the potential to impact long-term health and productivity, which is why routine testing and biosecurity are an important part of our herd management practices.

Does and Bucks are registered with the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA). All registrations of kids (with the exception of wethers) are completed online at our expense.

Transfers of kids and adult animals sold with registration papers are at Buyer’s expense.

We will always do our best to get at least one fabulous photo of every kid born here.

Kids will be tattooed, up-to-date on coccidiosis preventative, have received all their age-appropriate vaccines, and wethered (as applicable). (Wethers make wonderful pets as they don't have the hormonal cycles of does, nor the pungent smell of bucks.)

Horns - All kids are disbudded between the ages of 3-8 days. If you prefer a horned goat, reach out to us directly at Hello@CloverDreamsFarm.com to chat about your horned goat dreams.

We ensure that kids are healthy and have received proper preventative care before leaving for their new home, and we hope that they receive the same care once they leave our hands. Once an animal leaves our property, Clover Dreams Farm makes no guarantees regarding future health.  Out-of-state buyers are responsible for obtaining health certificates, transportation, and associated fees.

We are not responsible for any injuries or illnesses an animal may acquire during or after transit. Our animals are extremely friendly and people-oriented. Moving can be stressful, we ask that you have basic medicines (supportive supplements) on hand to provide proper care if needed. We are available to answer any questions or concerns.

Please let us know if you are currently participating in any performance programs. We value the time and dedication that goes into Milk Testing, Linear Appraisals, and being an exhibitor at ADGA shows. Preference is given to performance homes.

Reservations and waitlists are honored after Clover Dreams Farm has made all herd retention decisions.

Goats are herd animals and require companionship. We sell goats only to homes that already have goats or are purchasing multiple goats.

First Right of Refusal

Selling your Clover Dreams Nigerian? If in the future you decide to sell your Clover Dreams goat, we request the first right of refusal at fair market value.

Deposits, Payments & Reservation Terms

We list available Nigerian Dwarf goat kids on the For Sale page, typically within the first two (2) weeks after birth. This allows us time to assess each kid’s health and viability before offering them for reservation.

To reserve a Nigerian Dwarf goat listed on the For Sale page, a non-refundable deposit is required per goat, as outlined below:

  • Companion Wethers: $100 non-refundable deposit

  • Doelings, Bucklings, and Adult Goats: $200 non-refundable deposit

Deposits, balances, and optional services are collected via Invoice issued by Clover Dreams Farm. Invoices may be paid via ACH (bank transfer), Zelle, credit/debit card, or cash. Deposits are applied toward the purchase price and are non-transferable.

Goats cannot be held without a deposit. A deposit reserves the selected goat and removes it from availability until pickup, subject to the timelines outlined below. All goats must be paid in full before pickup or transport.

Returned or failed ACH payments are subject to a $4 processing fee charged by the payment processor and will be added to the buyer’s balance.

If the buyer chooses not to proceed with the purchase at any time, the deposit will be forfeited.

Clover Dreams Farm reserves the right to retain any kid or adult goat for herd replacement or management purposes. In the event a reserved goat is retained by the farm, all payments made toward that goat will be fully refunded.

Pickup Timing & Boarding

Goat kids are ready to leave Clover Dreams Farm between four (4) and eight (8) weeks of age, depending on buyer readiness for bottle feeding. Kids leaving before eight (8) weeks will be drinking cold milk twice daily and may be transitioned to whole cow’s milk. A bottle nipple will be included to assist with feeding.

All goat kids must be picked up no later than eight (8) weeks of age. All wethers will be banded before leaving, following Cornell University’s recommended process, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Adult goats and kids over eight (8) weeks of age must be picked up within seven (7) days of placing a deposit.

If pickup or transport does not occur within the timelines stated above, a boarding fee of $10 per day will apply and must be paid in advance of the extended boarding period. Extended boarding is offered solely at the discretion of Clover Dreams Farm.

Optional Services: DNA Testing & Microchipping

Optional services must be paid in full before being performed and are non-refundable once initiated.

Buckling DNA Testing

As of January 1, 2024, ADGA requires bucks born after this date to have DNA on file before any of their offspring can be registered with ADGA. (DNA is not required to register the buck himself). Read the full ADGA Article here.

Clover Dreams Farm can submit a DNA sample on your behalf for a non-refundable $45 service fee, which covers ADGA’s $38 test, postage with tracking, and supplies. ADGA DNA testing service is available only to ADGA members. Buyers who decline are responsible for completing DNA testing directly with ADGA.

Microchipping (Doelings & Bucklings)

Microchips provide permanent identification and serve as a backup to tattoos, especially helpful at ADGA-sanctioned shows.

Clover Dreams Farm offers microchipping for $6 per goat. If completed before ADGA registration, no additional fees apply. If done after registration, ADGA rates apply to add the microchip number to the registration.
